On the left is a photograph of James Blakeley with Laurel and Hardy taken when Stan & Babe visited the Midland Hotel Manchester on the afternoon of Tuesday 2nd August 1932. Among the guests to meet the comic pair were members of the Blakeley family. James Blakeley was present in capacity as proprietor of cinemas (probably representing Manchester/Northern Exhibitors) and JEB as a film producer. After mentioning the 'lost' Mancunian film above, it is interesting to note that Blakeley presented Stan & Babe with a piece of film from one of their own comedies - this being 'Hats Off' which is a 'Lost' Laurel & Hardy short and much searched for across the globe.
